Today, I will tell you the difference between BMC composite well cover and SMC composite well cover.
The BMC composite is a group of molding plastics. The main raw materials are short cut glass fiber, unsaturated resin, filler and various additives, which are fully mixed into a pellet like prepreg.
SMC composite is sheet molding compound. Its main raw materials are yarn, unsaturated resin, low shrinkage additives, fillers and various additives.
BMC composite well cover has low requirement for bearing capacity. Because BMC is a kind of agglomerate material, reinforcement is needed. Usually used in green belt, sidewalk and other areas where motor vehicles are not allowed to enter.
SMC composite well covers have high requirements for bearing capacity, sheet materials and strong toughness, which are usually used in urban main roads, expressways, docks, airport runways, etc.
SMC well cover and BMC well cover are indistinguishable from the front of the well cover, which can be distinguished from the back of the well cover. As shown in the following figure, the back of BMC well cover has raised mesh reinforcement framework, while SMC well cover is flat.
Now the trend is that SMC composite will replace BMC.
