SMC cover is made of sheet long glass fiber, unsaturated resin, filler, calcium powder and other materials, which are molded by high-temperature press once. It can reach high load without reinforcement of overhead reinforcement. For example, D400 cover for gas station and f900 well cover for airport runway are heavy manhole covers.
The BMC cover is made of short glass fiber, unsaturated resin, filler, calcium powder and other materials, which are molded by high-temperature press once. The BMC manhole cover itself can not reach high load, so it must be reinforced with steel bars, which belongs to light well cover.
